Cattle ranches have a way of teaching you things that can't be found in a classroom. Growing up in Greenville, Indiana, a town small enough that everybody knew everybody, I learned early that trust was built slowly and lost quickly, that showing up mattered more than showing off, and that the people around you were worth protecting. Those lessons became the foundation of everything I've done professionally, long before I knew what a portfolio was.

Finance ran in the family. My father built one of our community’s most successful insurance agencies from the ground up in the mid-1960s, and I grew up watching what it looked like to serve a community with integrity. I came into his firm in 1983, working part-time while working on my degree at Indiana University. In 1985, we moved into investments together, and something clicked. Over forty years have passed since then, and the work has only gotten more interesting.

What I've always found most rewarding is the moment a client stops feeling overwhelmed and starts feeling capable. People come in carrying a lot of weight around financial decisions, and part of what I do is lift some of that by bringing clarity to subjects that can feel unnecessarily complicated. I focus on making complex financial topics easier to understand. I take that seriously because confidence built on real understanding is far more durable than confidence built on someone just telling you everything will be fine.

Legacy Wealth Trail is a boutique firm by design. Every client relationship is built from scratch, custom-fitted to the goals, circumstances, and family dynamics of the person in front of us. We draw on the depth and resources of a national rep-owned broker-dealer affiliation, but we've never let that scale become an excuse to treat people like files in a cabinet.

My wife, Jaime, and I live on our ranch in Wildwood, in the heart of Central Florida's horse country. Our son Dakota is close by, and Scott and his family live about a mile down the road. Brandon and his family are still planted in Indiana, keeping us well-rooted in the community where this all began. Having family within reach on both ends of the country is something I don't take lightly. We love the fact that we have clients scattered across the country and intend to continue growing in that fashion. I don’t believe that great relationships are based on location; they are best built on a foundation of understanding, compassion, and trust.

Team roping has been a serious pursuit for over thirty years. Dakota and I still compete nationally, and the sport has given our family some of its best memories, including a handful of national titles that still mean a great deal. Between the arena, the golf course, and wherever travel takes us next, life here in Florida has a rhythm that fits well. The ranch gives us the quiet. The location gives us everything else.
